Most property management software is built for markets where rent arrives by direct debit, where every tenant has an email address they read, and where the accounting conventions are somebody else's. Used here, it fights you: mobile money is an awkward special case, WhatsApp is not a channel, and the reports answer questions nobody asked.
ProMI starts from the other end. Figures are in kwacha. Mobile money is a payment method like any other. A lodge and a block of flats can sit in the same account, because plenty of owners run both. Staff who share one phone between a shift can still be told apart in the record.
What we care about
- The record should be defensible — who did what, to which record, and when
- Money should reconcile, and the books underneath should balance
- Nothing should need re-typing because two tools do not speak
- It should keep working when the connection does not
